The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest announces two strategic projects that will be implemented on the blockchain infrastructure developed by Elrond Network.
Today, June 14, 2022, at the Palace of Parliament, the first day of the fifth edition of the international forum "CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROTECTION FORUM - CIP FORUM V 2022 - Critical Infrastructure Protection & Resilience Europe 2022" took place.
Following the Government ORDINANCE nr. 8 dated 31.01.2022 on the interoperability of electronic road charging systems and facilitating the cross-border exchange of information on non-payment of road charges, ICI Bucharest has created and operationalized the National Electronic Register. The institution is responsible with managing and updating it.
Within the European Blockchain Partnership, the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics (ICI Bucharest) has activated the first EBSI node in our country. EBSI is the first blockchain infrastructure in the European Union, managed by the European Commission and partner Member States, an initiative developed by the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP) and materialized through a network of Nodes distributed in Europe.
Starting with March 2022, the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest became a member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the specialized agency of the United Nations for information and communication technology (ICT).
By the ORDINANCE approved in the Government Meeting of 31.01.2022 on the interoperability of electronic tolling systems and facilitating the cross-border exchange of information on non-payment of road tolls, ICI Bucharest will establish, operate, administer and update the National Electronic Register.
