On April 7, 2023, Adrian-Victor Vevera, the general director of the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest, participated in the launch event of the "Sustainable cities and communities" program, which took place in Chișinău, at the Smart Hub within the Academy of Economic Studies from Moldova.
ICI Bucharest responded positively to the invitation from the "Smart City" Local Development Association, an association that proposes to transform the localities of the Republic of Moldova into smart cities and communities with a digitized, sustainable, mobile, accessible, and innovative society.

A project of such scope should start with the idea of sustainable development, using digitization as a tool, thus guaranteeing success. The event was attended by Alexandru Stratan, Rector of the Academy of Economic Studies from Moldova, Dumitru Alaiba, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Olga Ursu, Deputy Mayor of Chisinau, Viorel Jardan, President of Strășeni District, Cristian David, member of the Advisory Council for Sustainable Development, Eduard Dumitrașcu, president of the Romanian Association for Smart City, Grigore Belostecinic, expert in the economic field, their host being Victor Nicolaescu, president of the "Smart City" Local Development Association.
