The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics took part in the 4th edition of the 2026 Women’s Excellence Gala , titled “The Smart, the Bold, the Beautiful”, an event dedicated to recognizing professional performance, leadership, and the outstanding contributions of women in key sectors for the development of Romanian society.
The gala brought together representatives from public institutions, the business environment, opinion leaders, and special guests, in an evening dedicated to celebrating female excellence and promoting inspirational role models for future generations.
During the event, Mirela Monica Iovu, Vice President of the Steering Committee of CEC Bank, received the Award for Excellence in Innovation and Financial Social Responsibility. The distinction was presented by Adrian-Victor Vevera, Director General of ICI Bucharest.
The 2026 Women’s Excellence Gala marked the 34th event organized under the platform “Together We Protect Romania”, by the MediaUno Press Group, the Department for Sustainable Development of the Government of Romania, the National Institute of Statistics, and the MediaUno Association.
At this year’s edition, a total of 44 excellence awards were granted to prominent figures in fields such as journalism, medicine, energy, diplomacy, culture, education, public administration, entrepreneurship, and research.

The institute’s delegation is led by Adrian-Victor Vevera, General Director of ICI Bucharest, and its participation continues the institute's dialogue with institutional and academic partners across the Prut on digitalisation, research, and innovation.
