In accordance with Law no. 269/2003 on the Statute of the Romanian Diplomatic and Consular Corps, with subsequent amendments and completions, with Government Decision no. 16/2017 on the organization and functioning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with subsequent amendments and completions, as well as with the Order of the Minister of Foreign Affairs no. 732/2021 for the approval of the Regulation on the organization and conduct of competitions for admission to the Diplomatic and Consular Corps of Romania (Regulation), published in the Official Gazette no. 290 / 23.03.2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces the organization of a competition for 120 diplomatic and consular positions.

The status of member of the Romanian Diplomatic and Consular Corps can be obtained as a result of the promotion of the admission contest by a person who meets all of the following conditions, as set forth in Law No. 269/2003 on the Statute of the Romanian Diplomatic and Consular Corps, with subsequent amendments and completions: he has the right to hold public office under the provisions of the Constitution and current legislation; he possesses all of the political and civil rights guaranteed by the Constitution and current laws; he is not a member of any political party; pursued long-term higher education at a higher education institution in the country or abroad, graduating with a bachelor's degree or equivalent recognized by the relevant ministry in the field of education; speaks two or more foreign languages, one of which must be English or French; speaks two or more foreign languages, one of which must be English or French; has a sufficient state of health, as evidenced by a specific medical act; she was not convicted of a crime, and this does not preclude her from becoming a member of Romania's Diplomatic and Consular Corps.

Through the online portal https://cariera.mae.ro, designed by ICI Bucharest, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an admissions competition for the Romanian Diplomatic and Consular Corps.
