ICI Bucharest was a partner of the CleanTech Hackathon 2025

The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest was a partner of CleanTech Hackathon 2025, held on May 23–24, 2025, at Laminor Arena, Bucharest, as part of the largest energy fair in the region – Energy Expo.

The event marked a key moment in CleanTech Nexus, a program launched by Techcelerator to stimulate innovation and collaboration between startups, companies and research centers in the energy field.

The hackathon brought together over 100 participants and 40 teams from Romania, the Republic of Moldova and other South-Eastern European markets, who worked for two days on developing technological solutions for the energy transition. Topics covered included optimizing electrical grids, improving the infrastructure for electric vehicles, automating industrial inspections with drones and artificial intelligence applications for estimating energy consumption and production.

ICI Bucharest supported this innovation effort as a strategic partner, providing digital transformation and technology validation expertise and promoting collaboration between researchers, startups and key industry players. Participants benefited from mentoring sessions and exposure to the regional community of investors and sustainability specialists.

ICI Bucharest's presence at the CleanTech Hackathon highlights the institute's commitment to supporting the development of Romania's innovation ecosystem and accelerating technology transfer from the research environment to the economy. Through this partnership, ICI actively contributes to identifying digital solutions for the challenges of the energy transition and strengthening regional cooperation in green technologies.
