The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest received the #WeAreHalf trophy on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Palace of Parliament, during the Evidence Gala, an event dedicated to promoting gender equity and strengthening safety and opportunities for women in society.
ICI Bucharest was nominated for the “Public Sector Ally of the Year” category, a distinction that underscores the institute’s ongoing support for women and its integration of equity principles into its policies and activities. The recognition comes in the context of the institute having appointed a gender officer and carrying out initiatives aimed at ensuring an inclusive professional environment, based on respect, safety and real equality of opportunity.
The #WeAreHalf trophy was handed over to Mr. Adrian-Victor Vevera, General Director of ICI Bucharest, who highlighted the significance of this recognition: “The #WeAreHalf trophy is an honour and, at the same time, a responsibility. For ICI Bucharest, gender equity represents a direction of work that is assumed and integrated into how we build teams, projects, and partnerships. We have constantly sought to create an environment in which competence, performance and access to opportunities are real for all, and the presence of a gender officer in the institute reflects precisely this ongoing concern for balance and inclusion.”
The Evidence Gala brought together public institutions, leaders, experts, and representatives of the private sector for an applied dialogue on equity, safety, and the essential role of the state in supporting women and future generations. In this context, the award granted to ICI Bucharest highlights the importance of partnerships and concrete actions through which the public sector can transform commitments into visible results for the community.
