ICI Bucharest participated in the "Strengthening regional energy resilience to hybrid threats. The role of diplomacy" event

Yesterday, March 2, 2023, the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics (ICI Bucharest) participated in the round table with the theme "Strengthening regional energy resilience to hybrid threats. The role of diplomacy". The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with the National School of Political and Administrative Studies and took place at the Parliament Palace.

The General Director of ICI Bucharest, Adrian Victor Vevera, as the speaker of the panel "Disinformation and energy security. The Role of Diplomacy", highlighted the need to strengthen resilience and energy security, countering hybrid threats, including disinformation. Through diplomatic efforts, disinformation campaigns can be prevented, promoting international agreements on information sharing and transparency and building trust-based relationships. At the same time, he specified the role of diplomacy in developing common cyber security standards to protect the energy infrastructure from possible cyber attacks.

The discussion moderated by Ana Otilia Nuțu, Expert Forum (EFOR) and co-president of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF), was attended by Tatiana Iosiper, Special Representative for Energy and Climate Diplomacy within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alina Bărgăoanu, Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations SNSPA, Silvia Vlăsceanu, executive director of the HENRO Association.
