ICI Bucharest participated in the round table organized by the Aspen Institute Romania under the auspices of the Aspen Technology & Society program, which took place on June 18, 2024. The event was an important opportunity to debate the main challenges and opportunities generated by digital transformation and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the current context of Romania.

During the discussions, essential topics for Romania's digital future were addressed, emphasizing the need to develop digital skills to cope with accelerated technological changes. The specialists present highlighted the critical role of generative AI (Generative AI) in increasing companies' competitiveness and maintaining a climate of trust for the users of these technologies while protecting privacy and personal data.

The event was held in a Chatham House format, ensuring an open environment for exchanging ideas between participants. The general director of ICI Bucharest, Adrian-Victor Vevera, actively contributed to the discussions, bringing to the forefront the expertise of the institution in the field of IT research and development, as well as the successful projects in the field of digitization and cyber security.

Among the topics discussed was the National Action Plan on the Digital Decade for Romania, which aims for Romania to recover the gaps in terms of the use of new technologies. Also discussed was the rising trend of the Generative AI market in Romania, forecasted to grow from USD 130 million in 2025 to over USD 700 million in 2030.
