ICI Bucharest participated in the Local Communities Summit

The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest participated in the Local Communities Summit – Shaping the Future of the European Budget, held at the Palace of Parliament.

The event, organized by Europuls – the European Expertise Center, in partnership with G4Media, the European Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, the European Commission Representation in Romania and the Federation for Innovation and Sustainable Competitiveness in SMEs – FICSIMM, brought together over 150 representatives of European and national institutions, public administration, business environment, civil society and youth organizations.

The debates focused on the priorities of the European Union’s Multiannual Financial Framework for the period 2028–2034 and how Romania can get involved in defining the new financing mechanisms.

ICI Bucharest participated in the panel dedicated to the European Competitiveness Fund, currently in the stage of establishing rules and priorities. Participants stressed the need for a predictable fiscal framework, multi-annual co-financing and realistic pre-financing mechanisms to facilitate access to funds. The summit included three panels, following which proposals and recommendations were formulated regarding European investments in Romania. The main conclusions will be brought together in a report dedicated to the topics addressed during the meeting.

The Local Communities Summit marked the conclusion of the COHERO4EU project – Invisible Heroes of Cohesion, an initiative dedicated to strengthening the dialogue on cohesion policy.
