The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest participated, as a partner, in the 9th edition of the Smart City Industry Awards (SCIA) event, held on May 27, 2025.
Organized by the Romanian Association for Smart Cities, in partnership with the Government of Romania – through the General Secretariat of the Government, the Department for Sustainable Development – the event brought together leaders from public administration, academia and business, along with specialists in urban policies and technology, to debate innovative solutions in the field of sustainable urban development.
ICI Bucharest’s participation in SCIA 9 reflects the institute’s vision of smart cities – as ecosystems where technology, innovation and sustainability come together to generate more efficient public administrations and more connected societies.
The SCIA 9 event brought together over 600 participants – including government officials, mayors, European Commission representatives, investors and technology companies – becoming a relevant platform for promoting Smart City initiatives and strengthening strategic partnerships at national and regional levels.
