The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest organised, through BSC AI Factory, together with NeoMixers, the event "Tech Sparks: AI Innovation & Investment", held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Urban Hub in Bucharest.
The meeting was attended by startup founders, investors, researchers and technology professionals interested in developing products and services based on artificial intelligence. The panel "From AI Research to Market: Building, Scaling and Investing in AI Startups" followed the journey of an AI solution from idea and research to validation, financing and market launch.
The discussion addressed the difficulties encountered by startups in this field, access to infrastructure and expertise, the choice of relevant use cases and the criteria that investors take into account before supporting a project. Participants also discussed the difference between an interesting technical idea and a product that meets a real need, as well as the steps necessary for an AI startup to grow. The evening ended with a networking session, during which participants continued discussions with members of the BSC AI Factory and NeoMixers communities.
ICI Bucharest, in partnership with the ICI Research & Innovation Foundation, took part in the 2026 edition of the “Pietroșița Renaște – Preot Ioan Oprea” Summer School, where they delivered an introductory artificial intelligence course and organised a virtual reality activity for children.
