The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest participated, on July 28, 2026, in the round table "Local Performance in the Digital Era", organized by the GP Association and Ghidul Primăriilor within the CyberSea Festival.
The debate brought together representatives of the Presidential Administration of Romania, the Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate, the National Institute of Administration, the European Parliament and local public authorities, along with specialists and representatives of technology companies.
The discussions highlighted the need for a coordinated approach to digitalisation, combining the adoption of appropriate technological solutions with data protection, staff training and the development of institutional capacity to respond to cyber incidents.
The event also allowed participants to discuss practical examples and the needs of local communities, ranging from the protection of IT systems to the responsible use of artificial intelligence and the improvement of public services.
CyberSea Festival participants can also visit the ICI Bucharest stand today, where they can discover ScanX, see robots in action, attend demonstrations of communication between smart devices and test a virtual reality application using a VR headset.
ICI Bucharest, in partnership with the ICI Research & Innovation Foundation, took part in the 2026 edition of the “Pietroșița Renaște – Preot Ioan Oprea” Summer School, where they delivered an introductory artificial intelligence course and organised a virtual reality activity for children.

The event is dedicated to cybersecurity and includes demonstrations, practical activities and meetings between specialists, institutions, companies, researchers and students.
