On Thursday, October 3, 2019, the final event of the Interreg Europe HoCare project (Providing innovative solutions for home health care by strengthening cooperation in regional innovation chains using the quadruple helix model) was held successfully in Nicosia, Cyprus. The event, titled “HoCare High Level Political Dissemination Event,” was organized under the auspices of Mr. Constantinos Ioannou, Minister of Health of the Republic of Cyprus.
The event was attended by high-ranking officials from all partner regions, as well as representatives of ministries, local authorities, relevant local NGOs, universities and private entities. High-level representatives from Romania participated - Dan Dumitrescu, Minister of State - Ministry of Health, Danut-Alexandru Potor, Minister of State - Ministry of European Funds, Svetlana Gomboș, Director General of the Managing Authority of the Competitiveness Operational Program, together with HoCare team of the National Institute for Research - Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest, led by dr.cib.ec.mat. Gabriela Florescu.
In the first part, the speeches were devilered by Mr. Christos Pittaras, President of ANEL and Mayor of Latsia, Mrs. Constantia Constantinou representing the Directorate-General for European Programs, Coordination and Development, Mr. Ierotheos Papadopoulos, Head of the European Commission Representation in Cyprus and Mr. Andreas Xenofontos, director of health care services at the Ministry of Health.
Ms Mar Martin, HoCare Policy Officer and Joint Secretariat of the Interreg Program, gave a brief overview of the Interreg Europe program's goals and outcomes to date.
The next part of the event agenda consisted of a short overview of the HoCare project made by Mr. Eleftherios Loizou, project coordinator representing the Nicosia Development Agency-ANEL Cyprus and a short presentation on the exchange of experience within the project, made by Mr. Michal Štefan representing DEX Innovation Center, Czech Republic.
During the main part of the event, all partners from the eight participating countries presented the impact of the HoCare project results in their region in terms of regional policy improvements.
A fact that was continuously highlighted through the speeches and presentations, was the high level of quality of the implementation of the HoCare project, product of an excellent cooperation between 8 partners and the high level of project success in improving regional policy instruments.
