On April 26, 2017, IF Idea Factory - Think Tank launched the second edition of the international Critical Infrastructure Protection Forum - CIP Forum. Representatives of main entities focused on the regional and global governance of the Internet (ENISA, the World Bank, the US Embassy, the Council of Europe as well as members of similar bodies from the surrounding regions) were invited to take part in this conference.
The academic and scientific context favoured the development of partnerships with research and development institutes, such as ICI Bucharest, INCAS and prestigious universities in the country – Politehnica University of Bucharest, the Academy of Economic Studies and the Petroleum and Gas University of Ploiesti.
The main objectives of the international conference "Critical Infrastructure Protection Forum - CIP Forum" were:
- increasing knowledge and awareness across the Romanian community on issues related to the protection of critical infrastructures, vital components of the economic development and security of Romania;
- promoting a better understanding of the role of public-private partnerships in the protection of national and European critical infrastructures;
- encouraging and strengthening the capacity of various national actors to actively participate in national / European critical infrastructure protection actions;
- encouraging open and multiparty discussions on current and emerging issues related to the protection of national and European critical infrastructures.
In this respect, Mr. Decebal POPESCU, General Manager of ICI Bucharest, presented a paper in the panel dedicated to smart solutions entitled „Smart City to Smart State Forum”.
