On Friday, June 9, 2017, on the premises of ICI - Bucharest, BUSITY project was presented by the winning team of the 3rd place in the national competition "Java for universities".
The competition, organized by ADFABER and supported by Oracle Academy, is addressed to passionate programming students who want to deepen their JAVA knowledge and skills in competitive activities.
The members of the team of the Faculty of Automation and Computers – Politehnica University of Bucharest (coordinator: Dr. Boicea Alexandru and the students: Tufă Adriana and Boicu Ionuț) presented the application, dedicated to the Android operating system, which integrates the concept of Smart City - increasing the efficiency of public transport (buses, trams, trolleys). The goal of the application is to improve the quality of passengers’ life by giving them the opportunity to get useful information about waiting times in stations and generating statistics, using the collected data to facilitate traffic/congestions analysis etc.
At the end, the project team responded to questions from the scientific researchers at the institute.
The members of ICI - Bucharest Management Board have awarded the winning team, welcoming the performance of young programmers and urging them to become collaborators or even employees of the Institute in the future after completing their studies.
