CALCULOS Cloud architecture for an open library of reusable logical function blocks for optimized systems

Project Manager: Dr. Eng. Vasile SIMA – Scientific Researcher I

The main objective of the project was to design a cloud platform and associated services, a platform that would provide processing resources for accessing and running advanced control algorithms and optimizing large-scale industrial installations. These services will allow the user to perform online risk analysis and hazard prevention using genetic control algorithms, optimization, defectoscopy, diagnosis, damage prevention and fault analysis.

CALCULOS has proposed a cloud-based platform for design and validation services that will provide support for an open database and access to standardized algorithmic solutions. The database consists of algorithms, sequences and control strategies optimized for specific installations and processes, allowing a substantial increase in efficiency and reliability, reducing the risk of malfunction and facilitating the experimental evaluation of various scenarios. In the project a solution was developed, based on semantic searches and matching algorithms with the required properties, which led to the modification of the control system. The system-level verification was done in the cloud by the simulation module - in the loop, accessed by the developers using the web interface.
