Mr. Decebal POPESCU, the new CEO of the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest

Starting October 1, 2016, the Minister of Communications and Information Society, Ms. Delia POPESCU, appointed Mr. Decebal POPESCU as General Manager of the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest.

DECEBAL POPESCU is a professor at the Politehnica University of Bucharest (PUB), Computer Science Department. He is a graduate of PUB, Faculty of Computer Science (since 1998), becoming in 2003 a Doctor (PhD) in Computer Science with the title "Fuzzy Architectures for Implementing Expert Systems". His main areas of research are: intelligent circuits in fuzzy logic, neural networks, eHealth, design of Cloud architectures and services, complex eGovernment platforms, embedded systems, reconfigurable computers. He is a member of IEEE and of the Romanian Society of Robotics. He collaborates with the University of Hamburg and the University of Bielefeld (Germany) in the field of control algorithms and the implementation of fuzzy models for the management of complex systems. He has been involved in many relevant projects with the Fraunhofer Institute, Berlin, being the coordinator of research groups that have successfully completed projects such as "TrustedSafe" (2010), "E-Caesar EUSDRO" (2008), "High Performance Computing Cardio Personalization Component Models - HEART "(PCCA 130/2011)," Technology Control and Integration of Intelligent Materials and Structures - CITMSI "(CEEX 259/2006).
