ICI Bucharest successfully completed the pilot course “Metaverse: concepts, technologies and future perspectives”, held from November 18 to 26, 2025, within the core project number 23380601 – “Advanced research in the Metaverse and emerging technologies for the digital transformation of society”. The program had an experimental nature and was dedicated to deepening the metaverse as an emerging field with a significant impact on digital transformation.
The course addressed the evolution of the metaverse concept, examples of its use in education, the economy, health, and the creative industries, as well as the role of key technologies such as VR/AR, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. Issues related to governance, ethics and possible development directions of immersive ecosystems were also discussed.
This edition was attended by 22 students from technical universities in Bucharest: the Faculty of Automatics and Computers, the Faculty of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering (UNSTPB), and the Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics (ASE). ICI Bucharest thanks all participants for their interest, substantial dialogue and valuable contributions, which will support the optimisation and development of an extended version of the course.
