ICI Bucharest participated in the Consultation Forum on Sustainable Energy in the Defence and Security Sectors

The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics (ICI Bucharest) was represented as moderator of Working Group 3 on the Protection of Defence-Related Critical Energy Infrastructures with responsibilities in agenda setting, organization, the definition of deliverables, and coordination for production and delivery, within the Consultation Forum on Sustainable Energy in the Defence and Security Sectors.

The European Defence Agency (EDA) organised the fifth Consultation Forum on Sustainable Energy in the Defence and Security Sectors (3rd phase) (CF SEDSS III) from 30 November to 1 December 2022 under the auspices of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU). The Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic hosted it.

More than 150 experts from 29 European countries and different institutions and organisations participated in the fifth conference of the third phase of CF SEDSS III in Prague, reaffirming the Consultation Forum's status as the largest European defence energy community. The project started in 2015 with the primary scope to create a defence energy-related community to share relevant information and best practices to reach sustainable energy objectives. The Forum brings together EU state and partner state MoD representatives, EU institutions representatives, members of academia, and the private sector. The third phase started in 2019 and will end in 2024.

ICI Bucharest has been involved with CF SEDSS since 2017. The participation in this Consultation Forum underlines ICI Bucharest's dedication to critical infrastructure protection and resilience across a wide variety of domains, including energy, and its capacity to contribute to policy and technical discussions at European international levels.
