ICI Bucharest organized the Digital Innovation Summit Bucharest

Digital Innovation Summit Bucharest, organized by the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest under the High Patronage of the President of the Chamber of Deputies and the Prime Minister of Romania, took place between April 16-18, 2024, at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest. The summit was attended by more than 1,800 public and private sector professionals, including government officials, security and technology experts.

"The protection of critical infrastructure and cyber diplomacy are complex themes and challenges, for the approach of which collaboration is needed between the academic area, the business sector and the area of public authorities," said Adrian Victor Vevera, general director of ICI Bucharest. "The summit was a valuable opportunity to share knowledge, best practices and strategies. Its success is proof of everyone's commitment to creating this ecosystem to shape a safer and more prosperous digital future."

On the sidelines of the event, the partnership with ChainArgos was signed which lays the foundations of the Blockchain Intelligence Academy and a new research area for ICI Bucharest, the collaboration protocol with the European Digital Innovation Hub Trakia (EDIH Trakia) from Bulgaria, the NFT Museum was launched. The representatives of the NATO Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee present at DISB communicated the fact that within the Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme, the project Cyber Polygon: A Cyber Range Platform Specialized on Energy Sector with Automatic Generation of Virtual Scenarios was approved.

DISB brought together the 7th edition of the Critical Infrastructure Protection Forum (CIP Forum) and the 3rd edition of the International Conference on Cyber Diplomacy (ICCD). The event provided a platform for attendees to discuss innovation, cyber security and the role of diplomacy in today's interconnected digital world with speakers from 27 countries.

The summit consisted of panels and workshops, TechPulse Hackathon, High Performance Computing training, B2B meetings, international inter-ministerial dialogues and demonstrations of state-of-the-art products. Among the speakers were high-level officials of the Romanian Government and Parliament, representatives of international organizations and top experts in various fields, from cyber security and blockchain to energy and smart cities.
