Bucharest, 15th of February 2021: The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest and the developers of selfd.id, the first integrated decentralized digital identity platform in Romania, the first integrated decentralized digital identity platform in Romania, announce a partnership agreement to accelerate the digitization process of the national public system and to align it to the requirements imposed at the European level for embracing of the secure electronic public identification (e-ID) technology.
Through this partnership, the selfd.id platform will facilitate the interaction between individuals and legal entities with government institutions, such as ministries, public administrations, national research and development institutions, etc. Based on some digital credentials that validate certain identification elements, issued on the digital identity platform, users will be able to immediately present and verify a wide range of credentials, such as personal data, professional certifications, employee certificates, but also vaccination certificates or Covid-19 test results, very important in the current context.

With extensive applicability, the platform allows the integration of a wide range of end-users who can use digital credentials in their relationship with the state institutions from general areas, such as education, economy, medicine, transport, official news, and others which can be automatically validated through the digital wallet associated with the platform – verificabil.eu
Fully interoperable with other similar systems developed by third parties, the digital identity issued by government organizations can operate in parallel with and complementary to the exchange of digital credentials, such as employee certificates, professional certifications, practice licenses, etc., and other certified elements in the private sector.
Developed with the latest technologies, such as blockchain, the selfd.id platform is provided with the newest identification concepts, such as Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) or Verifiable Credentials (VC). Its founders Cristian Talle, Radu Chirilă and Cătălin Talle have a wide experience in designing, implementing, and integrating software programs for international companies, including in the development of blockchain platforms, as well as in marketing and advertising.
