CYBER INFLUENCE ASSESSMENT AND STRATEGIES CENTER

Today, on the 15th of January 2020, Marian Murguleț, Secretary of State for Information Technology - Government Chief Information Officer of Romania, and Victor Vevera, Technical Director of the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics, participated at the first operationalization meeting of CYBER INFLUENCE ASSESSMENT AND STRATEGIES CENTER (“CIASC”).

“CIASC” is a research centre in the field of identifying and evaluating the techniques used and the objectives pursued within the process of social influence exerted by interested external entities through the use of modern applications, information systems and modern technological infrastructures, with the aim of changing attitudes and behaviours by altering and strategically manipulating information.

“CIASC” will consist of experts from the General Secretariat of the Government, through the specialized field coordinated by the Secretary of State for Information Technology/CIO Office, and from the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest, who will elaborate studies, reports, analysis and evaluations on this topic.

The inter-institutional cooperation between the signatory entities of the present protocol will be carried out through the organization of events, working groups, bilateral meetings and exchanges of experience with institutions and organizations from Romania, as well as with international partners.
