"Cloud Computing Digital Library" Project Completion

On 3 April 2016, ICI Bucharest received the South Korean delegation from Joseph WonheeLee, General Manager of LG N-SYS and representatives of FutureNuri (Digital Library / Content Management / Web & Portal Services) to finalize the pilot project Digital Library with Cloud Computing System ", a project developed within the Romanian-Korean IT Co-operation Center, which is implemented at the "Carol I" University Central Library - Bucharest.

The purpose of the meeting was to present the pilot system to be implemented at the "Carol I" University Central Library by 10 April 2017. The pilot system was designed and tested in South Korea and represents a first step towards implementing a unique digital system at national level for libraries and archives.

The Pilot Project includes 4 categories of implementation:

• Library Information Display Pilot System;
• Pilot System for Union Catalogue;
• Pilot System for Library Statistics, and
• Pilot system for Library Integrated Management.

"Digital Classes & Digital Universities" was identified as an area with great research and development potential, a type of solutions already implemented in South Korea and other Asian countries by LG N-SYS and its partners.

Another topic of interest was the creation of a Smart House concept in Romania, based on the Internet of Things (IoT) efficiency and the reduction of energy consumption that could be included in an eligible project for attracting EU funds.
