I visited Anina-Steierdorf in Caras-Severin last year. The people are wonderful. Today I received a book in Romanian-English of poems titled "Anotimpuri in lumina" or "Seasons in Light" written by Floare Nicola, my friend. If you want to understand the beauty of the country and the people read it.

Sunt o admiratoare a ceea ce faceti. Este bine realizata pagina cu Romania - spun asta deoarece am vazut multe lucruri (si auzit) urate despre romani si sincer imi pare rau pentru ca nu e adevarat; este un popor generos, simplu si ospitalier, in tot cazul eu sunt multumita si bucuroasa de a vizita cand pot aceasta tara. Acest site este unul din cele mai mult vizitate atit de mine cit si de familia mea si ne bucuram din tot sufletul caci putem tine legatura cu orasul in care ne-am nascut, am crescut si din pacate am plecat. Deosebit de reusit, usor de accesat continind atit informatiile de care noi avem nevoie si totodata constituie o placere sa "navighezi" prin Bucuresti - fotografii deosebit de reusite care ne trezesc in suflet melancolia clipelor frumoase traite acolo. Va multumesc mult petru posibilitatea de a visita acesta pagina deosebit de interesanta si utila. In activitatea mea de manager in turism, cu accentul in organizarea de excursii in romania ma bucur sa gasesc o adresa precum a dumneavoastra, atit de ampla in informatii si atit de utila ptr. vizitatori. ceea ce imi lipseste este actualitatea informatiilor dumneavoastra. imi este clar ca la pagina asa de vasta ca a dumneavostra intretinerea ei si actualizarea permanenta nu este usor de realizat, dar totusi ultima update in urma cu 4 ani este deja prea mult. Daca ati rezolva si acest aspect, cel putin in domeniul events in bucuresti (expozitii, spectacole, etc.) sa fiti in permanenta cu citeva saptamini inainte ar fi o adresa cu adevarat excelenta!

Nascut in Lugoj, domiciliat in Timisoara, educat in ambele orase, n'am fost in Rominia din l960. Din aceasta cauza, am "rasfoit" cu foarte mult interes, paginile care descriu Timisora, Bucuresti si Cluj de cari imi aduc aminte. Am fost foarte placut impresionat de multitudinea schimbarilor care au avut loc si care au avut ca urmare imbunatatirea conditiilor de viata. Nu mai putin m'a impresionat calitatea paginilor de Web, pentru care trebue sa felicit pe creatori si autori si sa le urez o continuare similara si pentru planurile viitoare. Putinele critici destructive incluse in mesajele publicate, nu sint bazate pe cunoasterea factelor; ci sint mai mult expresia unei opinii proprii, nu intotdeauna obiectiva. Foarte buna prezentare si realizata cu mult angajament profesional. Mi-am permis sa o recomand si ambasadei romane din Stockholm. Nu stiu care este situatia imaginei Romaniei in alte tari insa datele despre romina in Suedia sunt asa de reduse si incorecte ca ajung pina la provocare. M-am simtit mult mai bine vazind prezentarea istorica ca si imaginile splendide ale manastirilor noastre. Multe si cuprinzatoare informatii pentru care va transmit multe felicitari. Nu este foarte corecta critica d-nei Simi !! cu diatezele in limba engleza. Ceeace este unanim acceptat este ca o critica nu trebue sa aiba un ton menit sa jigneasca si deceptioneze. In toata Scandinavia este de exemplu recunoscuta lupta mentala si rominii sunt recunoscut sensibili. Critici "exacte" si dure nu se folosesc cu scop constructiv. D-na Simi nu isi da adresa e-mail. Este o bucurie ca in continuare sa urmarim webside-ul dvs. Daca considerati asi putea contribui cu ceva, scrieti-mi. Cu toata consideratia Mihai.

Cind Internet-ul e singura sursa de informare pentru cei de afara, asi aprecia daca s-ar lucra deja si la schimbarea culorilor. My great grandmother was a Bogdan from Satu Mare. She married a Mr. Kuk and they had several children, one of which was named Laura Kuk. She was born in Satu Mare in 1896. I think her mother and father brought her to America in 1909 (the whole family), and they settled in the Pigeon Hill neighborhood of Aurora, Illinois to work in the railroad and in the factories. My mother, Florica (Florence) Markus was born in 1919 in Aurora. Florica was full blooded Romanian born in the USA. She married a local Jewish man who converted to Catholicism to win her hand. I was born the last child of Florence Markus and Robert Bieber (Beaber) in May of 1955. Both of my parents are still alive, although my grandmother and grandfather have passed on. I am hoping to discover some relatives perhaps still living in Satu Mare. I would like to plan a trip with my sister to Saty Mare for the year 2005. I just visited Romania and liked it, but would like to give a WARNING to tourists NOT to use a travel agency in Bucovina called Bucovina Estur (in Suceava, starting point for the painted monasteries). The travel agent is called Bucovina Estur and is run by a guy called Cristian Ianos with a partner who calls himself "Teddy". Not only was the service they provided poor (just as one example: they showed up two hours late at least to pick us up with some weak excuse every morning), but they also tried to extort more and more money from us for the trip above the price that we agreed on the first day. They even threatened me and my girlfriend physically. We were very afraid of them and eventually paid them off (all the additinal money they were demanding)just to make them go away even though we disliked being threatened and cheated. Lonely Planet nad the Rough Guide both gave this travel agency favourable recommendations, but they were wrong in every detail. Bucovina Estur were extremely unpleasant, unhelpful, unwilling to give any advice about travel there, spoke poor English, French and German, showed up late every day, used broken down cars without spare tyres and gave no helpful information even about little things like where to have lunch. If you do want to visit this area (the monasteries are beautiful) I suggest gettign a local taxi driver to take you to the monasteries you want to see. The taxi drivers are eager to do this and a lot cheaper than the agency. It is easy to find somewhere to stay in the area. There are road signs pointing out houses where tourists can stay.

I spent 2 weeks in Romania in September 1998 and had a wonderful time!! The people are extremely friendly and the countryside, especially Transylvania, is beautiful!! On a different note, I made an aquaintance in Iasi while I was visiting. Since I have been back in the USA, she has informed me that she has been invited to attend a conference in the US. She does not, however, have funding for the plane ticket or hotel expenses. I wonder if anyone out there knows of any organizations that may sponsor her for something like this. If you do, I can give you more specific info about her and the conference. Thanks.

I recently went back to Romania for my first visit in 16 years after immigrating to Canada in 1982(I am now 21). I loved it!!! We have such a beautiful country! It is unfortunate that it has been plagued with a certain group of people (I'm sure we know who they are) but I know that we will find the strength to prevail through all this corruption, chaos and turmoil and defeat those who are continuing to shame and drag the Romanian nation through the mud the same way our ancestors (Stefan cel Mare, Mihai Viteazul etc.) defeated those who wanted, and in some cases succeeded to rape (Russians) and pilage (Turks) our motherland. bun site. Cautand numele exact al cartii capitale a lui Nicolae Iorga, stii, "Istoria Românilor ......", am dat peste o biografie de-a lui unde se spun multe, dar lipseste titlul cautat. Poate nu este greu sa se adauge si informatia asta. MULTE FELICITARI !!! Pentru site-ul imbunatatit deosebit de bine pregatit. O mica sugestie ar fi o lista simpla (rapid de download'uit) care ar lista toate serverele din Romania sub forma de bullets sub orasele respective. Altfel, e deosebit de greu de navigat si incet. (Inca accesul din Vest a serverelor din Romania este detsul de incet, asta trebuie neaparat luat in considerare, exista site-uri din Romania care sunt absolut supraincarcate cu imagini si Applet'uri ce merg prost).
