the water of the Black Sea which is chlorided, sulphated, sodic,
magnesian, hypotonic (mineralization 15.5 g), all of which are

for showers in a special enclosure. Venus is a new resort (1972),
a cosy and elegant one standing out due to the variety and beauty
of the architectural styles of the hotels and villas, as also to
their particular comfort. Most of the five-storey hotels bear
feminine names (Anca, Brandusa, Corina, Dana, Felicia, Irina,
Raluca, Rodica, Sanda, Silvia, etc.) towering over which are the
four taller hotels (Vulturul, Cocorul, Pajura, Egreta). There
exist also a camp site, many restaurants, sweets shops,
cafeterias, bars and nightclubs, an open-air cinema,
sportsgrounds (volleyball, handball, minigolf), discotheques,
amusement park, etc. At the southern en of the resort there is a
special pavilion for applications of sapropelic mud and
sulphurous baths; also in that area, close to the resort there is
a important stud farm. Leisure and amusement opportunities are of
a wide variety: water sports (yachting, wind-surfing,
hydrobicycles), trips on Romanian routes (tour of the Romanian
coastal resorts, voyages by ship on the Black Sea or on the
Danube-Black Sea Canal, trips to the Danube Delta, to the ancient
Histria citade, 7th century B.C., to the Murfatlar vineyards,
etc.) or to the resorts on the Bulgarian coast, riding, etc.
