Further during his visit to Japan the President of Romania Ion Iliescu has a meeting today with the Prime Minister of the host country Junichiro Koizumi. Yesterday the President of Romania Ion Iliescu was received by Emperor Akihito after which he had several meetings with Japanese businessmen.
The President of Romania Ion Iliescu is attending today the debates of the Business Forum. As might be known the President of Romania is accompanied by a numerous group of businessmen of this country. The President of Romania has already met with the Presidents of the two chambers of the National Diet which is the Japanese Parliament : the Speaker of the Chamber of Representatives Tamisuke Watanaki as well as the President of the Chamber of Counselors Yataka Inoue. The President of Romania also received in separate receptions at the residence he has in Tokio for the duration of the official visit to Japan the Presidents of the companies Tomen and Koyo Seiko. President Ion Iliescu is meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan Junichiro Koizumi at the end of which the joint declaration of the two countries is to be signed. - Official visit to Japan of President Ion Iliescu - the President is to meet with the Speaker of the House of Representatives and with the President of the Chamber of Counselors of the Japanese Diet. Then President Ion Iliescu is to have a press conference at the Press Center of the City of Tokio and give an interview to the NIKKEI newspaper. The President is then having talks with the Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.
- The Senate and the Chamber of Deputies are being gathered in joint session with the Reports of Activity of the Romanian Television Company for 1998, 1999 and 2000. The joint session will also debate the letters of the President of Romania Ion Iliescu referring to the participation of our country in the Special Police Force of the United Nations to Kosovo as well as the capacity of system C - 41 with the KFOR Mission to Kosovo.
