Dimitrie Brindza (1846-1895)

Romanian physician and naturalist. He was professor at the Universities from Iasi and Bucharest. He founded the botany department, the Botany Institute and the Botanical garden from Bucharest.

He published many botanical, zoology, parasitology, anatomy, medicine etc. studies. Is the author of the first Romanian synthesis work "Prodromul florei romanesti", with many vascular spieces, and of the first determinator published in Romanian language "Dobrogea's Descriptive Flora" (1891).
