Grigore Antipa

(1867-1944)

Darwinist biologist, Haeckel's pupil. He was the director of the Natural History Museum from Bucharest (1892-1944), which is named after him, and member of the Romanian Academy, and other many academies from abroad.

He is the founder of the Romanian hydrobiology and ichthyology school, one of the creators of the modern museology, initiator of the dioramas.
