The development of http://www.ici.ro/romania/ website began in 1995, based on voluntariate, by an enthusiastic team from ICI.
In the development of this web site the team has used the technical knowledge and the infrastructure obtained in the frame of the COPERNICUS European Project INDIS - "Information Dissemination in Central and Eastern Europe" (cod IC 1030).
In 1996 in the frame of the project "Development of a server with information about Romania, for Internet and other computer networks" (contract no. 207/1996, project B38, program code 3.1.2, domain code 1203.18) from the National Research Program, the infrastructure of the site administration team was developed and upgraded.
The site has as unique purpose to promote in the world the image of Romania, is non-profit, and do not promote the products / services from the texts or the companies to which there are links.
The texts were taken from leaflets, brochures and magazines printed in Romania, and have been translated by the web team members. The publishing of the texts on this site are according to the article no. 33, point 1.d, chapter VI of the Law no. 8 from 1996, March 14 regarding copyright.
