Composer and cello player. He wrote pieces for cello and piano ("Dans taranesc", "Serenada romana"), seven quatets for strings, concertoes for cello and stage music. His creation is characterized by some folclorical informations and by melodicallity. Dimitrescu was one of the main promotors of chamber music from Romania.
