EUGEN SIMION

Great personality of the contemporary literary critic and history Born in Chiojdeanca villages,Prahova county. High school at Ploiesti. Filology in Bucharest (1952-1957). In 1963 is assistant lecturer at the Filologu Faculty from Bucharest. Takes his doctorate with the thesis about Eugen Lovinescu, scepticul mantuit (1969). Lecturer at Sorbona (Paris). He meets Mircea Eliade, Eugen Ionescu, Emil Cioran, evocated in Timpul trairii, timpul marturisirii, Jurnal parizian (1977). His fundamentaly work is Scriitori romani de azi, in more volumes. From 1991 is member of the Romanian Academy.
