IOAN PILLAT
(1891-1945)

Poet who have loved very much the home land, the two villages, Florica - from Muntenia and Miorcani - from Moldova, being very important for the pastelist (as Mircesti was for Alecsandri). Born in Bucuresti (where he died too), Pillat is the descendent of an old boyard family from Falciu county and his mother is the daughter of the great state man I. C. Bratianu (who brought King Carol I in Romania in 1866). He have spent his holidays in Florica and Miorcani villages.
He learns al the primary school in private in Florica village. High school in Bucharest at "Sf. Sava" and for the university he goes with his mother to Paris. Takes his licence in Letters ans Law.

Editorial debut with Visari pagane (1912), followed by other volumes: Eternitati de-o clipa, Gradina intre ziduri, Pe arges in sus, Satul meu, Biserica de altadata, Limpezimi, Caietul verde s.o. Beautiful are also Poemele intr-un vers (1935).
