This work presents a technique for Doppler frequency estimation of the reflected signals, with the delay time known, using spectral correlation. In order to reduce the computation complexity the signum spectral correlation is introduced. The results of computer simulation of the estimation process for a linear frequency modulation (chirp) reflected impulse are shown.

Valentin Inceu was born in 1955. He received the diploma degree in Radioelectronics from Technical Military Academy of Bucharest in 1979. In 1995 he received the Ph. D degree in Radioelectronics also from the Technical Military Academy of Bucharest. Since 1997 he has been Associate Professor at the Radioelectronics Department of the Naval Academy of Constanta. His main research area is digital signal processing.
