In September 2001, under the sponsoring of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, ICI inaugurated the first electronic library providing for any citizen free access to electronic books as well as to information regarding software providers and products. The project helped establish a high technology centre destined to:

• the circulation of scientific and cultural information under the form of electronic books;
• the promotion of the software products developed by the Romanian companies and not only, by means of advertising, displaying or on the spot marketing;
• the organization of promotional events in the ICT domain.

Specialized personnel provide the information brokerage, by assisting the users' access to the Internet.

The cooperation with libraries, publishing houses and associations interested to promote the concept of electronic book facilitates the improvement and the continuous diversification of the services offered by our digital library.
